Wisdom Centre: Human Beings | Being Human
An unorthodox journey through Lent
hosted by Don McLeod
Wisdom Centre
Wednesday Evenings | February 24 to March 24, 2021
Online | 7:00 to 8:30pm
Join us for 5 evening online sessions during Lent to reconnect and reimagine what it might mean to be fully alive… human beings being human. Through music and poetry, images and insights from wisdom texts (ancient and contemporary), we will explore together ways of responding to what poet Diane Ackerman describes as, “our yearning to find whole-ness as holiness, and at-one-ment as atonement, filling a need ancient and essential as air.”
There is no cost for this event however we ask you to register so we can email you the Zoom information for the sessions. Please email us at: adminassist@stlaurence.ca
2021 Offertory Envelopes are ready to be picked up from St. Andrew’s, whenever that is possible. Some have already been delivered and if you are concerned about receiving yours then contact John MacKinnon, 403-282-0074, johnm9@telus.net

Come and Let Us Pray Together
At the most recent meeting of the AFP executive we discussed ways that we could respond and help people dealing with the COVID pandemic. Our response is to say why we don’t we do what we do best- and that is to pray.
We will be hosting a one-hour time of prayer on December 21, January 18, and February 15 at 1:00pm Eastern time. It will be a mixture of biblical readings, reflection, music, intercession, silence and other types and kinds of pray. You are welcome to actively participate or simply listen and pray quietly.
We will use the “Zoom” way of gathering people together. For more information see the weekly email.

We have copies of the personal devotions “Our Daily Bread” at the church for for September through to November. They can be picked up in the narthex if you’re at the church or we can drop one in the mail for you if you contact us!

Praying with PWRDF
This is an excellent opportunity for us to make connections during this time of isolation. We can come together by praying with each other from parishes across the county, with PWRDF staff and most importantly with and for our partners.
All the recordings from the past few weeks of prayers can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoQP475xxXQAyzjoXtC0ykA
