Parish Profile Update
Dear People of St, Andrew’s Family.
Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come. Thank you all for being part of the discussion on Sunday, April 24 for the Parish Profile. It is much appreciated to see your love and care for this church. Thanks to those who brought the food. Big thanks to Pat Kover and Tom Greaves for compiling and reviewing all the input that you gave us at the meeting. Stayed tuned for the next steps in this journey!
Once again thank you all for your care and love to this community of St Andrew’s some of you have done it many times, but it is always good to look where we are going as a Church.

Join the global wave of prayer calling all Christians to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know the love and peace of Jesus Christ. May 26th – June 5th, 2022. More information can be found here.
PWRDF has announced that it is now working with a new partner – “Initiative E+”. Money given to it will be used for Ukrainian civilians injured in the war, as well as Ukrainian military personnel.Since February 24, at the beginning of the conflict, there has been an acute need for medical equipment and supplies to care for those who have been injured. This situation has gone up tenfold. The reality is, of those wounded, 75% are civilians.By Friday, April 1, PWRDF has now received nearly $400,000 for humanitarian relief and aid for our Ukrainian sisters and brothers. In March, $100,000 was given to ACT Alliance, in partnership with Hungarian Interchurch Aid. Another $50,000 was further given to HelpAge Canada which is responding to seniors fleeing Ukraine to a safe haven in Moldova. In addition, PWRDF is pleased to announce that it is giving $62,000 for medical supplies to Initiative E+ who will be providing care to those in the Kyiv region as well as in Eastern Ukraine. The money will be used for the following:- Medical equipment for those hospitals which are caring for many injured people- Medicine for people in Eastern Ukraine as well as in Kyiv and in the surrounding areas- Ukrainian first responders and military personnel who require PPE and medical supplies
Please continue to pray and to engage in almsgiving for the Ukrainian people in the name of Christ. We are His hands and His feet to care for others. May you be blessed to be a blessing to those in need.

Registration is now open for our Summer programs. Come for one week, or come for them all. You will find environmental and nature-based programs, as well as outdoor spirtuality and experiential spiritual teachings, including core Anglican, reconciliation and interfaith offerings. Discussion group: Indigenous Relations
Much has come to our consciousness recently regarding our historical relationship with indigenous peoples. We will continue our discussion on Wednesday, May 25 @ 7:00pm for mutual support and to review actions steps. Having begun with the Anglican video about the Doctrine of Discovery , we continue to hold up the TRC and its recommendations. Calgary Alliance for the Common Good
Friday to Sunday, May 13 to 15 at St. Andrew’s
Mental Health First Aid (Basic) is intended for adults interacting with adults (18 years and older). This course focuses on the four most common mental health disorders including substance-related, mood-related, anxiety and trauma-related, and psychotic disorders. Participants who take this course are well prepared to interact confidently about mental health with their family, friends, communities, and workplaces. Tickets are $60.
Wrestling with the Truth of Colonization: With our hearts pierced by the news of the discovery of the remains of 215 children in an unmarked grave at Kamloops Residential School, calls for action towards truth and reconciliation are growing louder. St. Edmund’s Food Bank Appeal
We are once again appealing for help with stocking our Food Bank shelves. We currently find that we are running short on canned goods – especially canned meats (tuna, salmon, ham, etc), vegetables, soups, beans, etc. as well as cereals, snack foods for kids, and jams. The Food Bank is open Monday and Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 for dropping off donations, or you can call Marilyn (our Food Bank Coordinator) at 403-288-6330 to arrange a time for drop-off outside of those hours (please leave a message and she will call you back). If you would like more information about our Food Bank and how you can help, please email us. Thank you for your support!
SeniorConnect is an online training program for any community member to identify seniors at risk, determine who to contact for assistance and understand the referral process. It is free and available anytime. Click here to go to the website. The program is run by Calgary Seniors’ Resource Society.
