This Week at St. Andrew’s:
With so many folks out and about to enjoy our upcoming mid-summer long weekend, we will *only* have worship at 8:00am this coming Sunday, August 4.
Please join for this quiet service of Holy Communion.
Our regular 10:30am service will resume the following Sunday, August 11.
Curious about upcoming bible readings? The lectionary is always available here: https://lectionary.library.vanderbilt.edu//
Sadly, long-time parishioner Margaret Elaine (Peggy) Clarke Benson died peacefully early in the morning this past Monday, July 22. A service of remembrance and celebration will be here next Saturday, Aug 3 at 2pm. If you are able to help with a small reception following the service, please contact Jeanne Mosca email@example.com
Please remember Peggy in your prayers, along with her family. Rest eternal grant unto her, O Lord. And let light perpetual shine upon her.
Education for Ministry
2019/2020 Registration is now open
Education for Ministry is a program of theological education for lay people. There are four years of study, but participants commit for one year at a time, meeting in small groups with a trained mentor. The program combines academic study with components to help participants take what they learn about Scripture, church history, theology and ethics into their own lives and hearts, supporting them to live out a vibrant baptismal ministry in the church and in the world.
For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
As of the end of May, our year-to-date deficit of $15,527 is higher than budgeted, though close to what we experienced last year. As we approach summer holiday time, please remember St. Andrew’s operations continue and so your continued support is needed and appreciated. Thanks.
Baby Food Blitz Outcome
Thank You to everyone who donated to the Blitz this year. 130 pounds of baby food was delivered to the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank. Your generosity is truly appreciated. Blessings to All. Carole T.

You are invited to a Women’s Fall Retreat Day, hosted by the Anglican Church Women. The theme will be, “An Eye To See” led by the Rev. Dr. Norman Knowles, in a Visio Divina format using the Saint John’s Bible. Visio Divina shares roots with the ancient practice of Lectio Divina, inviting one to encounter the Divine through images. The Saint John’s Bible invites readers of the Word to “listen…with the ear of your heart” and to “see with the eyes of faith.” Saturday, October 19 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at St. Peter’s, Okotoks. Please bring a bag lunch. To register, click here or text/call 1 (403) 678-1163.

A big thanks to Patrick Carmichael, President of the Board for being such a good friend to St. Andrew’s! If you do receive a ticket, please let Christine know, so we can work out any kinks in the system.
Driver(s) Wanted! We have a few parishioners living at Chartwell Colonel Belcher who need a ride to come to church. It is only a 5 minute drive from church and you need space for a walker. Please let Christine know if you are willing to help fill this pastoral need.
