Decorating the Church – This Sunday!
Christmas is coming and we will be decorating our church after 10:30am service on Dec. 22. Please bring your coffee upstairs after the 10:30am service. We especially need a couple agile people for ladder work for the boughs!
Joyful Giving 2020
All parishioners should have received their Joyful Giving 2020 letter and forms in person or by mail. We encourage you to review this carefully and to provide information on your Time, Talent and Treasure by Dec 25th latest to allow proper planning for the year ahead. Remember this is part of an ongoing campaign to help our parish grow into the next decade. We are always open to your thoughts and abilities to help make this happen. 2019 Tax Receipts Please note that, to be eligible for a 2109 tax credit, donations must be received by December 31, 2019. They must be hand-delivered to the office or post-marked no later than December 31, 2019. Many thanks!
2019 Financial
As our financial year end approaches, our parish is projected to have a shortfall of some $20,000 for church operations. We do have reserve money in our bank account that is held for emergencies and for operations and this can be used to assist if necessary. At this time of Christmas giving and sharing, we trust that those who are able to, will offer extra givings this December to help out our wonderful parish. Your Wardens Dave Thomson and Dick Ridley.

New Parish council members and wardens are needed! If you’re interested in being involved in parish governance for a two (2) year term and/or you know someone who would be great, please speak with one of the Wardens or with Christine.

Adult Baptism, Confirmation, Re-Affirmation & Reception
Christian formation for adults is being considered for early 2020, possibly culminating Sunday, April 26. Please speak with Christine if this may be of interest to you or for more information.
Brentwood Care Services take place every 3rd Wednesday of each month at 2 pm and are much valued by the attending residents. The next service is December 18. If you would like to join our small group, please see Susan Chivers or Vicki Michkofsky.
Carewest Colonel Belcher
We will be holding a service at the Colonel Belcher Centre on the 2nd Monday of each month beginning on January 13. Services will be at 2 pm. All are welcome to attend. If you would like to help with the services please contact Christine.

PWRDF Christmas Cards
PWRDF Christmas Cards are now available. Order forms are in the narthex. Samples of each design can be found, in plastic baggies, upstairs on the counter to the right of the narthex as you enter the sanctuary, and downstairs pinned to the right-hand side bulletin board, under the PWRDF section. Order directly from PWRDF or through Pat Kover (pakover@telus.net, 403-968-0520). Suggested donation is $25.00 (charitable tax receipt given for donations of $25.00 or more).
Good Shepherd’s Christmas Day Luncheon
Our sister Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd will be hosting another CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCHEON starting 1pm in their downstairs assembly hall at 408 38th Street SW. Turkey & ham, stuffing & sauce will be provided while everything else is pot luck, so if you are coming bring your favourite salad, veggie, or dessert. Finance Update
As of the end of September, our year-to-date deficit of $23,845 is higher than budgeted. We always see a dip through the summer though St. Andrew’s operations continue. Your continued support is needed and appreciated. Thanks.

Wisdom Centre Events
Save the Date: Matthew Fox, January 17-19
Matthew is a spiritual theologian, an Episcopal/Anglican priest and an activist for gender justice and eco-justice. Author of 37 books, he is one of the most important theologians of our time, and it is a real coup that we have persuaded him to come to Calgary. All Saints Retreat Centre, Cochrane
The All Saints Family Centre Society is a registered non-profit society connected to All Saints Anglican Church in Cochrane, providing community outreach. We offer a variety of courses, workshops and retreats, as well as space for rent for courses, speakers and retreat days. Grief Support for Loss of a Loved One: Elizabeth Short, Director of En-Courage, will be offering another six-week course. Suggested price of $120 for 6 sessions.
Parking!!
Foothills Village Condo Board has voted to allow us to park in their VISITOR parking on Sunday mornings until 1pm. They have also reopened the fence from their property to our alley! A big thanks to Patrick Carmichael, President of the Board for being such a good friend to St. Andrew’s! If you do receive a ticket, please let Christine know, so we can work out any kinks in the system.
Driver(s) Wanted! We have a few parishioners living at Chartwell Colonel Belcher who need a ride to come to church. It is only a 5 minute drive from church and you need space for a walker. Please let Christine know if you are willing to help fill this pastoral need.
Did you know?
*Our roof is fixed! You may not have known that last winter we experienced some leaking due to heavy snow and ice damming above the office. The issue has been addressed and we’re ready for winter!
*Our budget is 63% for Personnel (Priest, Choir Director & Office Administrator); 11% for the building (utilities, maintenance) and 26% everything else. Talk to a member of Parish Council for more details!
