Latest Financial News
Your spiritual and financial contributions are critical to our ministry and we thank you for all you give to St. Andrew’s! Our October financial statement shows that we slightly improved our giving profile for the year, but that we likely will have a shortfall at year end. Our year-to-date deficit is now at $24,022 compared to $23,606 in September, (higher than budgeted). FYI some extra unplanned costs did occur this year, such as $775 for elevator control cable repairs and $940 for further church roof repairs to fix leaks from last winter. So we ask you to look in your hearts and determine if you can help reduce this further by year end. (Additional offering envelopes are available in the Narthex or use the Donate button under the “Giving Back” tab on our website)
Parking!!
Foothills Village Condo Board has voted to allow us to park in their VISITOR parking on Sunday mornings until 1pm. They have also reopened the fence from their property to our alley! A big thanks to Patrick Carmichael, President of the Board for being such a good friend to St. Andrew’s!
Saying Farewell to Eyad & family
The time is approaching for our friends – Eyad, Fatan, Thyatra and Abdallah to move to Saskatchewan. Please join us on January 13th at 10:00am for the service and/or 11:30am for the luncheon at St. Edmund’s as we say Farewell! An RSVP is much appreciated (email@stedmundscalgary.org or 403-288-6331).

2019 Offertory Envelopes are ready to be picked up in the narthex. A number of people will have a new envelope number in order to consolidate our list and to save paper and costs. If you still have old envelopes at home, please recycle them or write your new number on them if needed. We are using fewer envelopes as more people are using monthly automated donations. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 403-282-0074 or johnm9@telus.net. John MacKinnon
2018 Tax Receipts Please not that, to be eligible for a 2108 tax credit, donations must be received by December 31, 2018. They must be hand-delivered to the office or post-marked no later than December 31, 2018. Many thanks!
Christmas Tea & Bazaar
Our annual Christmas Tea and Bazaar was another success. Fellowship was enjoyed by everyone along with tea, sandwiches and sweets. Just over $1600.00 was raised for our church. Many thanks to Helen Perry for organizing our annual tea and to those who baked, made preserves, helped out in the kitchen and served our guests. We appreciate everyone’s contribution.
Calgary Drop In Centre Christmas Gift
In 2007, then Chef Greg said he wished he could serve the clients a hot breakfast every morning. That year at Christmas, St. Andrews provided 356 lbs. of oatmeal to the DI..a year’s supply. Since then, through your generous support, St. Andrews has provided the DI with 3325 lbs of food. Chefs Cindy and Glen have requested a gift of coffee again this year. On behalf of the DI Lunch Bunch, I invite you to contribute a donation of ground coffee (no decaf or beans) if you are able, or Carole Thomson will be happy to shop for you if you would like to make a cash donation. The collection basket for the coffee will be in the Narthex as of November 6th. Blessings and thank you from the DI staff and clients…and from the “St. Andrews Lunch Bunch” who so faithfully serve at the DI throughout the year. Carole Thomson

The “Interview Movie”
John & Ruth thank everybody who stayed to watch the Part 1 and Part 2 of the “Interview Movie”.
On Saturday December 08th, 2018, starting at 7:00 p.m., there will be a showing of the combined Part 1 and Part 2, at John & Ruth’s home, address: 1307 Kingston St. N.W.
Popcorn, licorice and beverages will be served.
There is unrestricted street parking on the opposite side of the Mauel’s home, next to the school play ground.
If you can, let John or Ruth (ruth1508@gmail) know that you will be attending, so they know how many people to prepare for, but if you don’t let them know, that’s OK, as you are always welcome.
