Financial good news!
Thanks to everyone’s great commitment and generosity, our operating expenses broke even by year-end 2018. With the 60th anniversary special expenses, we ended with a small deficit, but stayed within budget. Please note: If you proactively increase your monthly donation now, the end of this year will be hassle-free, harangue-free, nag-free!
2018 Coffee Blitz
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the DI Coffee Blitz of 2018. On Dec. 20th the Lunch Bunch delivered 178 pounds of coffee. Glen and Cindy from the DI Kitchen were very grateful and want you to know how thankful they are for the donation. They shared with us that they were down to the last 4 flats of coffee in the storeroom and were trying to decide where to access the money to buy more coffee supplies. So St. Andrews gift was a timely arrival. Blessings to you all. Carole T. and the St. Andrews “Lunch Bunch”.
What is SALT?
St. Andrew’s Listening Team currently consists of Dave Thomson, Dick Ridley, Mitch Goodjohn and The Rev. Christine. Together we’re working on developing a series of parish conversations to deepen our relationships, discover pressing issues and discern common values. Stay tuned for more information!

Parking!!

A big thanks to Patrick Carmichael, President of the Board for being such a good friend to St. Andrew’s! If you do receive a ticket, please let Christine know, so we can work out any kinks in the system.
New Parish Council Members
New Parish council members are needed! If you’re interested in being involved in parish governance for a two (2) year term and/or you know someone who would be great, please speak with one of the Wardens or with Christine.
Driver(s) Wanted! We have a few parishioners living at Chartwell Colonel Belcher who need a ride to come to church. It is only a 5 minute drive from church and you need space for a walker. Please let Christine know if you are willing to help fill this pastoral need.
Coming soon in 2019…
Transforming Tradition
At various times through salvation history, people of faith have undergone profound transformations in belief and practice. For 3 Wednesdays in February (6, 13 & 20), we will explore some of the dynamics of a previous transformative time, the Restoration after the Babylonian exile, and discuss how ancient biblical wisdom could be applied to current times. Please let Christine know if an afternoon or evening time would be best for you.
St. Andrew’s Pub Night

Theological Shifts, Shake-Ups and Rumblings in the 21st Century—here at ST. Andrew’s!
Wednesdays from March 13 to April 10, 1:00 – 2:30 pm
Led by The Rev. Anna Greenwood-Lee and The Rev. Christine Conkin, this series will start with the premise outlined by Phyllis Tickle in her book, The Great Emergence that the Church and society today are undergoing a shift of the size and significance which we have not seen since the Reformation. We will then talk about some of the changes already happening and some that might be coming. We look at writings and videos from some of the biggest voices on the religious landscape today: Richard Rohr, Desmond Tutu, Nadia Bolz-Weber, Peter Rollins, Brian McLaren, Cynthia Bourgeault, and Ilia Delio. We will talk about what these shifts and changes might mean to how we understand the authority of the Bible, the authority of science, the authority of Jesus, and the authority of the head and the heart. No charge but please register by emailing adminassist@stlaurence.
