Announcements
Calgary Alliance for the Common Good action:
The Calgary’s City Council has put forward budget cuts of $60 million dollars ($144 million annually). This could have a profound impact on the issues we have prioritized as an Alliance over our history – addressing poverty, supporting seniors, care for the environment, social isolation and mental health. As an Alliance, we are standing behind the City Council’s priority of having these cuts “doing least harm” to those who are already vulnerable and supporting the #KeepCalgaryStrong campaign.
We invite you to join us at City council on July 22nd starting at 9:30 am. When you arrive look for others wearing a #KeepCalgaryStrong Button. We also invite you to write/email your councillors. A sample letter can be found at – https://www.calgarycommongood.org/_keepcalgarystrong

Education for Ministry
2019/2020 Registration is now open
Education for Ministry is a program of theological education for lay people. There are four years of study, but participants commit for one year at a time, meeting in small groups with a trained mentor. The program combines academic study with components to help participants take what they learn about Scripture, church history, theology and ethics into their own lives and hearts, supporting them to live out a vibrant baptismal ministry in the church and in the world.

Finance Update
As of the end of May, our year-to-date deficit of $15,527 is higher than budgeted, though close to what we experienced last year. As we approach summer holiday time, please remember St. Andrew’s operations continue and so your continued support is needed and appreciated. Thanks.

Parking!!
Foothills Village Condo Board has voted to allow us to park in their VISITOR parking on Sunday mornings until 1pm. They have also reopened the fence from their property to our alley! A big thanks to Patrick Carmichael, President of the Board for being such a good friend to St. Andrew’s! If you do receive a ticket, please let Christine know, so we can work out any kinks in the system.
Driver(s) Wanted! We have a few parishioners living at Chartwell Colonel Belcher who need a ride to come to church. It is only a 5 minute drive from church and you need space for a walker. Please let Christine know if you are willing to help fill this pastoral need.
