Education for Ministry (EfM)
Are you interested in exploring your faith and deepening your spiritual life? EfM helps equip lay people for their on-going ministry in the church and for their life of faith. It’s a 4-year theological training program to which students commit annually. The group here at St. Andrew’s will resume on Thursday afternoons in September and there are other groups in the city that meet at different times. For more information, please contact Mryka at mhallbey@ucalgary.ca or speak with any of the current participants.

If you are already using pre-authorized debit, remember you can top up your donation at any time by using a blank envelope (also available in the narthex) or by using the donation button on our website. Spiritual Eldering – A Retreat
Let’s ensure that the decades following the years of paid work and homemaking are a time of creativity, engagement, mentoring, and compassionate accompaniment. After all, that could be a third of our lives! Let’s build a culture in which aging people learn what it means to grow into eldership, a time of life in which experience and wisdom become a resource and gift for community. As a group of people 55 and older, we will spend time together listening, remembering, exploring, practicing, and creating as we become the kind of community that will make this kind of difference in our kind of world. The retreat will be Sept 9-14 at the Naramata Centre. For more information, visit http://pacificjubilee.ca/spiritual-eldering-pacific-jubilee-event-2/
Theological Shifts, Rumblings, and Shake-Ups in the 21st Century
Join Christine and Anna Greenwood-Lee this summer at Sorrento Centre, Aug 5-11, to explore some theology in a beautiful setting. We will start with the premise outlined by Phyllis Tickle in her book The Great Emergence that the Church and society today are undergoing a shift of the size and significance which we have not seen since the Reformation. We will then talk about some of the changes already happening and some that might be coming. We’ll look at writings and videos from some of the biggest voices on the religious landscape today. For more information or to register, visit: http://www.sorrento-centre.bc.ca.
