Philippians 3:17-4:1
Luke 13:31-35
Dear St, Andrew’s Anglican Church.
“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to set us free from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever.” Amen. (Gal 1:3)
As you all know that the government of the Alberta as drops most of the covid-19 guide line down starting March 1, 2022. Archbishop and Task Force said “While measures such as masking and distancing are no longer required from a provincial standpoint, the Archbishop and COVID-19 Task Force continue to strongly recommend these protocols as best practices for mitigating the spread of the virus in our communities, and promote them as a positive expression of our consideration for others. Stage 2 includes the lifting of any remaining restrictions on social gatherings, which in turn eliminates any ambiguity around coffee hours and other church socials that we encountered in Stage 1. These are now permissible.” This is a short information about what they said in the letter, but you can read the whole message here.
As a Parish of St Andrew’s we will continue with masking during service, but if you really need to take your mask off you are highly welcome, masking is optional. As well we will continue using individual cup for communion for now; we are not going back to common cup right away. Coffee hour will resume this coming Sunday March 6 after the service for 8:00 and for 10:30 service, those who are involved in making coffee after the service are welcome to plan for it. We will continue to follow the guide line when we are here in the building.
Thank you all for your ongoing work.
May God blessed you all.

A Lenten Devotional from the writings of Henri Nouwen
The season of Lent is a time of self examination and prayer; a time to evaluate our life of prayer, our involvement in Christian community, and our walk with Jesus.
Henri Nouwen speaks of these themes frequently in his writings. Although he died in 1996, Henri Nouwen is still considered one of the most profound and influential Christian writers today.
Take this opportunity to journey through Lent, allowing Nouwen’s insightful words to lead you to a deeper place of faith. Find out more information here.World Day of Prayer – Friday, March 4

About the Book
SEE NO STRANGER is a practical guide to changing the world, a synthesis of wisdom, a chronicle of personal and communal history – all joined together by a story of awakening.
In this book, Valarie begins by asking provocative questions: “The future is dark. But is this the darkness of the tomb – or the darkness of the womb? How do we labor for the world we want when the labor feels endless?”Sorrento Centre

Calgary Alliance for the Common Good
Hamper delivery volunteers wanted: At the start of the pandemic we responded to the food insecurity it created by having our members volunteer to deliver food hampers to people in need. The Calgary Food Bank has now taken on this role, by starting their own in-house Hamper Delivery Project. The Calgary Food Bank would like to increase the number of hamper delivery volunteers in the effort to work toward meeting demand. If you want to reach out to the Calgary Food Bank about joining the project, please reach out to Laura Harrisson or Michelle Vetland.
St. Andrew’s Heights Community Association -Pickleball is Coming to SAH!
The SAHCA Board has approved the addition of pickleball lines to one of the tennis courts in the community. The lines will be professionally applied and pickleball nets are being purchased. The plan is to have 2 pickleball courts on one of the tennis courts with portable nets that can wheeled onto the court when it is being used for pickleball. The nets can be moved to the side when players want to use the court for tennis. Initially the pickleball nets will be available from Monday to Friday and the court will be available for tennis only on the weekends due to high demand. Stay tuned for more details!
Wrestling with the Truth of Colonization: With our hearts pierced by the news of the discovery of the remains of 215 children in an unmarked grave at Kamloops Residential School, calls for action towards truth and reconciliation are growing louder. St. Edmund’s Food Bank Appeal
We are once again appealing for help with stocking our Food Bank shelves. The Food Bank is open Monday and Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 for dropping off donations, or you can call Marilyn (our Food Bank Coordinator) at 403-288-6330 to arrange a time for drop-off outside of those hours (please leave a message and she will call you back). If you would like more information about our Food Bank and how you can help, please email us. Thank you for your support!
