Holy Week
Saturday March 24, 10:00am: Multi-Generational Morning of Preparation for Holy Week... Join us for a casual morning to prepare for our journey through Holy Week with stories, crafts and conversation. Make palm crosses. Colour “Stations of the Cross” posters. Ask about our liturgical practice. Create “passports.” Hear a children’s telling of the core story of our faith. A great opportunity for seniors, adults, children and grandchildren alike to be church together. Coffee and Timbits will be on beginning at 10:00am!
Palm Sunday, March 25, 8:00 & 10:30am services with holy anointing as we prepare with Jesus for the trial to come.
The sacred journey of the Triduum is “three days” marking important moments in Jesus’ story. Maundy Thursday, March 29 at 6:00pm our service includes a simple soup supper as we contemplate Jesus’ commandment to love one another. Good Friday follows on March 30, with a time of remembrance of Jesus crucifixion at 10:30am. Our Easter celebrations then begin on Saturday evening for the Great Vigil of Easter, March 31 at 8:00pm. These services are a wonderful way of connecting with the holy in our lives, whether it be familiar or for the first time.
On Easter Sunday, April 1, we celebrate resurrection at our regular services: 8:00am & 10:30am. All are welcome.

Finance Update
We are happy to report that over 50% of our monthly budgeted donations come through pre-authorized debit. Many thanks to all who have signed up. At the end of February, we have a small operating deficit of just over $5000.
Communications Development
We are beginning a process of looking for some expertise to improve our communications in at least 3 areas: graphic design, website maintenance and social media. If you or someone you know have some skills and passion in this area, please let us know!
Youth Confirmation
A program for youth who are considering confirmation will begin after church on Sunday, April 22. We will be exploring our Anglican expression of Christian faith along with young people from St. Barnabas. For more information and to register, please contact Christine.

Pictures & Stories Wanted!
Ruth & John Mauel are gathering historical materials to make a presentation at our 60th Anniversary. Do you have any pictures of yourself taken in 1958, or a milestone such as when were you baptized, confirmed, graduated, engaged, married, had a baby or any other interesting story that you can share? Also if you have any historical information or other stories about St. Andrews Anglican Church, then please pass these to Ruth or John at church or via email at ruth1508@gmail.com, Thank You. Your 60th Anniversary Committee.
Compost Collection at St. Andrew’s
St. Andrew’s has begun collecting compostable materials in the downstairs and upstairs kitchens. The program will help us keep food and yard waste out of the landfill. It also complies with The City of Calgary’s Waste & Recycling Bylaw that requires onsite diversion of food and yard waste at all businesses and organizations. There are posters in the kitchens describing how to sort the various types of trash we produce on Sundays and throughout the week. Thanks for your help keeping St. Andrew’s clean!
The Wisdom Centre
Retreat at Kingsfold with Matthew Wright.
Matthew Wright, an Episcopal Priest from Woodstock , comes to us very highly recommended by Cynthia Bourgeault and other contemplatives. He will be leading three-night retreat at Kingsfold Retreat Centre April 17 – 20th . More information and registration at www.wisdomcentre.ca

Would you like to make bread to use for communion? Just let Christine know. You can use any recipe you like, though please try to avoid anything too ‘crumbly.’ See the adult education section of the website for one simple recipe!
