Do You Need A Prayer For Yourself Or Someone You Love? – Before the service please complete a ‘Prayer Request’, which you’ll find on the counter closest to the stairs in the Narthex (Lobby). Please feel free to experience the blessing of presenting your care and concern to God in prayer. For our new parishioners – do you need someone to say a prayer for you or a member of your family or a friend? We have a very active prayer chain in the parish and we would love to include you in our prayers. Just phone any of us – it doesn’t matter where you start, as the prayer will go around the chain quickly. We are The Rev. Christine Conkin, Pat Barton, Monica Edwards, Hilda Cox, Susan Chivers, Saro Zachariah, Pauline Booth & Avis Bruton.

We ask that you now fulfill your pledge, as you are able, and claim and paint your tiles for our Blank Canvas Fundraiser (see note above).
Education for Ministry
Curious about EfM? There will be an open session on Thursday, March 30, 1:00 to 3:30 in the classroom downstairs. Anyone who would like to know more about what we are doing is welcome to attend. If you can’t come in the daytime or on that day there will be another opportunity in early May to learn about the program. The date will be announced soon. Lent Resources!
Monday evening, 7:00pm – “More God: A Spiritual Practice Sampler Series” will have us explore various ways we can connect with God and our own souls. We will learn about and try out different approaches to prayer and meditation.
Society of St. John the Evangelist is an Anglican religious order that creates various spiritual resources through the year. For Lent this year they have created a 6-week program based on the 5 Marks of Mission, understood as 5 Marks of Love. For a free workbook and to sign up for daily emails, please go to: http://ssje.org/ssje/5marksoflove
The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) has produced daily Lenten devotionals particularly focused on food security and food sovereignty. For more information, go to: http://pwrdf.org/resources/seasonal/

Ministry with Children, Youth and Families
This winter/spring we are praying and thinking broadly and creatively about our needs and dreams for ministry with our youngest parishioners. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 4 at 7:00pm when we will work more specifically on creating a job description to suit our ministry goals.
Tax Receipts
2016 Tax Receipts have been handed out and mailed this week. If you are expecting a receipt it should arrive in the mail by February 13th. Please review your receipt right away and contact me if you have any concerns. Cheryl and I will be away for the month of April and it will be difficult to issue a duplicate receipt before April 30th. John MacKinnon 403-282-0074.
New website
Our new website is now up and running! It includes an events calendar and a password protected membership directory (ask Kate for the password). We need your help in filling it out with pictures of you and your family, along with parish events, activities, and groups. Please send your pictures or event information to Kate in the office. Check it out at http://www.st-andrews-anglican-calgary.ca and give us your feedback as we work out any kinks that may arise!
Financial News
St. Andrew’s family has rallied to raise most of the funds to update our parking entrance and our Building Committee is working to be ready for completing it later in the spring. Kudos to everyone for their great support. Our operating deficit to the end of February is -$7,513, which is close to budget and the increasing numbers of direct deposits is encouraging.

Triduum:
Maundy Thursday: April 13, 6pm *Please note time change! This service will include a simple supper.
Good Friday: April 14, 10:30am

Parking update
We are grateful that the management of the Foothills Professional Building (at the corner of 16th Ave & 29 St.) have agreed to allow free parking for St. Andrew’s parishioners on Sunday mornings, from 9:00am-1:00pm! It is roughly a 3 minute walk from their parking lot, through the condo complex and break in the alley fence to St. Andrew’s. If walking this distance is not difficult for you, please use this parking option and leave our parking lot for those with limited mobility, visitors and newcomers.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
We are a small group of ladies who lovingly create prayer shawls for members and friends of the congregation who are going through difficult times. As we knit the shawls we pray for God’s blessing on all who receive them and that the shawl bring them comfort, strength and hope. If you like to knit or crochet and think this ministry is just right for you, you would be very welcome to join us.
