Christmas Cakes
Canoffer cakes will be sold on Sunday, Nov 24th after 8 AM & 10:30 AM services by Jacob & Annie Philipose in the coffee room. We have got only limited quantities this year. It will be on a first-come-first-served basis. The price is still $15.00 each.
Greening of the Church – December 1st
Advent is approaching and we will be doing our church “greening” between the 8am and 10:30am services on Sunday, December 1st with trees, boughs and wreaths. If you are able to take part, please bring your coffee upstairs after the 8am service or come early if you are a 10:30am worshipper. We especially need a couple agile people for ladder work for the boughs!
Memorial Service for Mark Dickerson
A memorial service for Mark Dickerson will be held on Wed. Dec. 4 at 2 pm at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. It is at the intersection of 17th Ave SW and Lower Springbank Road.
Keep Calgary Strong Budget Action
We need your help to stop cuts to transit, affordable housing, community social worker and other community services like libraries.
When: Monday November 25th at 8:45 am (or 9:00 at City Hall)
Where: The Cathedral Church of the Redeemer 604 1 St SE, Calgary
The plan: We ask people to wear black. We will give you a green scarf when you arrive. We will meet at the church of the Redeemer. Then we will walk to City Hall and join others who will gather there. We encourage you to join us, but to also bring a friend or two with you. For more information click here.
Christmas Tea, Bake Sale & Bazaar
A big thank you to all those who helped with, donated to and attended the Christmas Tea on Saturday. What a lovely way to begin the holiday season!
Calgary Drop In Centre Christmas Gift
Chef Cindy has requested white sugar this year as our gift to the Kitchen. On behalf of the “Lunch Bunch”, you are invited to contribute a donation of white sugar if you are able, or Carole Thomson will be happy to do a bulk shop if you would like to make a cash donation. The collection basket will be in the Narthex as of November 15th. Carole Thomson
Brentwood Care Services take place every 3rd Wednesday of each month at 2 pm and are much valued by the attending residents. The next service is December 18. If you would like to join our small group, please see Susan Chivers or Vicki Michkofsky.
Carewest Colonel Belcher
We will be holding a service at the Colonel Belcher Centre on the 2nd Monday of each month beginning on January 13. Services will be at 2 pm. All are welcome to attend. If you would like to help with the services please contact Christine.

Ecumenical Lessons & Carols Service—Sun. Dec. 1
St. Andrew’s along with other local churches will be taking part in an ecumenical lessons and carols service at Holy Cross Anglican Church on Dec. 1 at 7 pm. All are welcome! Please speak with Claire if you’d like to participate.
Women’s Christmas Potluck
All ladies of the Parish are invited to attend the Christmas Potluck on Monday, December 2. Start time will be 6:00 p.m. with the food being served at 6:30. Please bring a Potluck food dish ( a ham will be prepared by the convenors) OR a bottle of wine (non-alcoholic punch will be available) AND a personal gift (not wrapped) for a woman at AVENTA. Flyers with gift suggestions for AVENTA will be posted around the Church. If you need a ride please contact either Lorraine or Carole so we can find you a lift. PWRDF Christmas Cards are now available. Order forms are in the narthex. Samples of each design can be found, in plastic baggies, upstairs on the counter to the right of the narthex as you enter the sanctuary, and downstairs pinned to the right-hand side bulletin board, under the PWRDF section. Kneed to Pray

St. Edmund’s Christmas Day Luncheon
Our sister Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd will be hosting another CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCHEON starting 1pm in their downstairs assmbly hall at 408 38th Street SW. Turkey & ham, stufffing & sauce will be provided while everything else is pot luck, so if you are coming bring your fave salad, veggie, or dessert. Finance Update
As of the end of September, our year-to-date deficit of $23,845 is higher than budgeted. We always see a dip through the summer though St. Andrew’s operations continue. Your continued support is needed and appreciated. Thanks.

Matthew is a spiritual theologian, an Episcopal/Anglican priest and an activist for gender justice and eco-justice. Author of 37 books, he is one of the most important theologians of our time, and it is a real coup that we have persuaded him to come to Calgary. All Saints Retreat Centre, Cochrane
The All Saints Family Centre Society is a registered non-profit society connected to All Saints Anglican Church in Cochrane, providing community outreach. We offer a variety of courses, workshops and retreats, as well as space for rent for courses, speakers and retreat days. Grief Support for Loss of a Loved One: Elizabeth Short, Director of En-Courage, will be offering another six-week course. Parking!!
Foothills Village Condo Board has voted to allow us to park in their VISITOR parking on Sunday mornings until 1pm. They have also reopened the fence from their property to our alley! A big thanks to Patrick Carmichael, President of the Board for being such a good friend to St. Andrew’s! If you do receive a ticket, please let Christine know, so we can work out any kinks in the system.
Driver(s) Wanted! We have a few parishioners living at Chartwell Colonel Belcher who need a ride to come to church. It is only a 5 minute drive from church and you need space for a walker. Please let Christine know if you are willing to help fill this pastoral need.

*Our roof is fixed! You may not have known that last winter we experienced some leaking due to heavy snow and ice damming above the office. The issue has been addressed and we’re ready for winter!
*Our budget is 63% for Personnel (Priest, Choir Director & Office Administrator); 11% for the building (utilities, maintenance) and 26% everything else. Talk to a member of Parish Council for more details!
