Announcements
A message from Colin Catley
“This is an extremely difficult letter to write. Saying ‘good-bye’ after having a 60 year home at St. Andrew’s is tough. After much thought I have decided to complete my move to Cochrane and move to a church ten minutes away from my residence, All Saints Anglican Church… thanks to the vestry, parishioners, and wardens for their splendid work that makes St. Andrew’s so great… I will always have a place in my heart for you all. Wishing all of St. Andrew’s a continued place of worship in the future.”
Christmas Tea & Bazaar
A sign up sheet is posted for you to volunteer for your favourite role at the tea. Setting up, serving, making coffee/tea, washing up, bake sale, craft table (do we have any coming?) clean-up etc etc .
Do still continue signing up for contributions to the tea and sale.
Thanks everyone.
Helen
Out on the Town
Many thanks to Mary Ellen and Gordon Wells for organizing the October Out-on-the-Town dinner. We had a very good turnout (27) and as always we enjoyed one another’s company over a good meal. This was a great start to our OOTT 2018-2019 season.
Honey & Vinegar (aka financial news)
Thank you for all you give here at St. Andrew’s! We are happy to report that in September we almost recovered from the summer financial dip, but we have further to go. Our year-to-date deficit is $23,606, (higher than budgeted) but we are confident that we will reduce it by working together over the remaining months of 2018. Last year we eliminated a $13000 September YTD deficit by December 31. Thanks for your generosity! (Additional offering envelopes are available in the Narthex or use the button on our website)
Ministries at St. Andrew’s
See our new display in the narthex highlighting our weekly worship ministries. Feel free to contact the specific coordinator for more information and to get involved. The sign-up lists for reading & administering have moved below the ministry descriptions, along with a full roster.
Did you know?
*Our roof is fixed! You may not have known that last winter we experienced some leaking due to heavy snow and ice damming above the office. The issue has been addressed and we’re ready for winter!
*Our budget is 63% for Personnel (Priest, Choir Director & Office Administrator); 11% for the building (utilities, maintenance) and 26% everything else. Talk to a member of Parish Council for more details!
Altar Guild
After many years of service as the Head of Altar Guild, Kathryn Tulk has now transitioned to Emeritus Altar Guild Coordinator. We are so grateful for her passionate and dedicated faithfulness to this ministry. Thanks also to Carole Thomson for taking on the role of coordinator.
