If you’re interested but can’t attend that night, please speak to Christine or one of the wardens.
Fall Book Study: Sept 18 – Oct 9
Richard Rohr’s “Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life”
Join us for 4 Tuesday’s at 1:00pm as we engage with Richard Rohr’s spiritual wisdom: “In the first half of life, we are naturally and rightly preoccupied with establishing our identity – climbing, achieving, and performing. But those concerns will not serve us as we grow older and begin to embark on a further journey, one that involves challenges, mistakes, loss of control, broader horizons, and necessary suffering that actually shocks us out of our prior comfort zone. Eventually, we need to see ourselves in a different and more life-giving way.” Book and/or journal orders need to be in by Sept 9.
Ministries at St. Andrew’s
See our new display in the narthex highlighting our weekly worship ministries. Feel free to contact the specific coordinator for more information and to get involved. The sign-up lists for reading & administering have moved below the ministry descriptions, along with a full roster.
Altar Guild
After many years of service as the Head of Altar Guild, Kathryn Tulk has now transitioned to Emeritus Altar Guild Coordinator. We are so grateful for her passionate and dedicated faithfulness to this ministry. Thanks also to Carole Thomson for taking on the role of coordinator.
Attitude of Gratitude
A big thanks to Billie Bertrand for the books she donated to the church library.
Christmas Tea & Bazaar
Last Sunday there was an enthusiastic yes response to the question posed in the bulletin “are you ready, willing and able” to contribute to the tea.
So Saturday 25 November is the date. Plenty of time for you to decide what to make and bake.
I’ll put up a sign up sheet downstairs so we have an idea what everyone else is bringing. Although we can’t really have too many butter tarts or shortbread cookies, variety is the spice of life!
Any questions or suggestions are welcome by your coordinator.

Spiritual Eldering – A Retreat
Let’s ensure that the decades following the years of paid work and homemaking are a time of creativity, engagement, mentoring, and compassionate accompaniment. After all, that could be a third of our lives! Let’s build a culture in which aging people learn what it means to grow into eldership, a time of life in which experience and wisdom become a resource and gift for community. As a group of people 55 and older, we will spend time together listening, remembering, exploring, practicing, and creating as we become the kind of community that will make this kind of difference in our kind of world. The retreat will be Sept 9-14 at the Naramata Centre. For more information, visit http://pacificjubilee.ca/spiritual-eldering-pacific-jubilee-event-2/
