How now will we believe?
We will wrap up our fall study series with two last sessions November 6 & 13, when we will explore current directions in theology and how it impacts church life.

Women’s Group Meeting
There will be a meeting for the Women’s Group at the church on Saturday, November 25 at 10:00 am. This is an important meeting to discuss the future of the Women’s Group and whether we should dissolve the ‘official’ group (specifically to close our bank account) but continue to work with the church in our unofficial groups. The Women’s Group has supported many charities over the years and contributed to St. Andrew’s financially and in many other ways. One item for discussion is whether we should give all our funds raised directly to St. Andrew’s. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please call me 403-816-6914 or e-mail wells.game@shaw.ca with your thoughts on the future of the Women’s Group. Thanks in advance. Mary Ellen

Women’s Christmas Potluck
All ladies of the Parish are invited to attend the Christmas Potluck on Monday, November 27.  Start time will be 6:00 p.m. with the food being served at 6:30.  Please bring a Potluck food dish ( a ham will be prepared by the convenors) OR  a bottle of wine (non-alcoholic punch will be available) AND a personal gift (not wrapped) for a woman at AVENTA.  Flyers with gift suggestions for AVENTA will be posted around the Church.  We look forward to breaking bread with you.  Your Convenors – Carole Thomson and Lorraine Cook.

Out On The Town
Our monthly Tuesday evening dinner get-together OUT ON THE TOWN will take place on November 28. We will be dining at 1918 Tap & Table, 1918 Kensington Rd – 6:30 pm sharp. Please contact Ginny Betty 403-288-0115 who will be making the reservation. Think about taking a night off cooking and join us for good food and conversation! Everyone is welcome.

Myanmar Crisis Relief Fund – PWRDF

60th Anniversary Planning
The proposed committee structure for our upcoming 60th anniversary next year is shown below.  For your information, Church construction started on Sep 22nd, 1958  (costs for the church back then were $42,800) and the first service held on Dec 24th, 1958 with 140 persons in attendance.  Church services were held prior to church completion in the Chief Crowfoot School Auditorium and at Parkdale Community Hall. So we have a lot of history to celebrate and a wonderful future to plan for!
If you are interested in helping this committee, please contact Dave Thomson or Wendy Taylor to sign up.

Calling all Quilters and Crafters!
We are looking for people to create some biblically-based “baby banners” for babies and toddlers in our midst to play on/with in church. Talk to Christine or Kara for more information.

Attitude of Gratitude
Thanks to Abha Parmar and Notre Dame High School music program for sharing their gift of music with us this morning.
Thanks also to the breakfast makers (Dave, Dick and Gordon) and all the participants at our breakfast and conversation last week.

Anglican Fellowship of Prayer
In a world of frenetic busyness, how can we cultivate the ability to wait upon the Lord?   How does waiting for God in prayer lead me to ‘renew my strength?’  What does the call to wait mean for the Church today?
Join the Anglican Fellowship of Prayer as they discuss how the discipline of waiting can enhance our experience of God in prayer.
November 25th, 2017, 9:15am – 3:30pm St. Francis, Airdrie—132 Albert St SE, Airdrie,   A free will offering will be taken to cover the cost of lunch lovingly provided by the people of St. Francis.  Please mention all dietary restrictions at the time of registration.

Creating Dementia-Friendly Congregations
How can our places of worship be welcoming, safe and spiritually fulfilling for those who have cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s? For many of us, we are aware of the need to respond but aren’t sure what that means or how it looks. To help us learn and implement simple yet powerful ways for our churches to become “friendly” places, please come to this morning workshop led by gerontological nurse specialist Mollie Cole, RN. This event is free of charge and will be from 9:00 am to noon on Saturday, November 25th, at Knox Presbyterian Church, 3704 37th St. SW, Calgary. All are welcome, and a special invitation is extended to clergy and other congregational leaders. This event is offered by St. Martin’s Anglican Church. To learn more and to RSVP (by November 20th), please contact the Rev. Natasha Brubaker at 403-510-6615/403-249-3014 or natasha.stmartins.net.
