2018 Spring Concert Series
We are hosting a series of lunchtime concerts on Tuesday’s beginning at 12noon in May and June. Concerts will last approximately 45 minutes and you are welcome to bring your lunch to eat during the performance. Admission is free. Donations accepted.
May 15th: Matt Heller and Michael Hope with Four Centuries of Musical Hits
These two Calgary Philharmonic musicians spin a playlist of transcendent tunes, from the sublime counterpoint of J.S. Bach to the swinging grooves of Sinatra. Discover a quirky and surprising take on classical, jazz, and pop styles, performed by bassoonist and vocalist Michael Hope and bassist Matt Heller.
May 22nd: Yvonne Rose and Claire Butler with Vintage Jazz and Nostalgia
Enjoy some ragtime piano, Gershwin, Cole Porter, Rat Pack songs and more from the 20s, 30s and 40s with Yvonne Rose of the Silver Stars Musical Revue Society and pianist Claire Butler.
May 29th: Nansee Hughes with Opera and Song
Lyric coloratura soprano Nansee Hughes from Edmonton accompanied by pianist Claire Butler will perform works by Moniuszko, Arditi, Dell’Acqua, Chopin, Lloyd Webber, Karlowicz, Floyd, and Lehar.
June 5th: Alysha Bulmer with Flute Classics
Flautist Alysha Bulmer enjoys a varied career as arts administrator, music teacher and early music educator. Alysha is flautist with the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra and enjoys performing from the solo flute repertoire. Alysha will perform popular classical pieces accompanied by Claire Butler.
June 12th: Courtney Murias with Opera and Song
Mezzo Soprano Courtney Murias will perform music by Schubert, Mozart, Strauss. As well as being in demand with the various opera companies in the area, Courtney enjoys intimate venues and bringing Opera to the people in unexpected settings.
June 19th: Nancy Thomson and Verne Luchinski with Vocals and Guitar
